Review: Opinel No. 10 Corkscrew Knife

I love my Opinel No. 10 folding corkscrew knife. It's the most useful knife I've ever owned. I wouldn’t take it sailing or in the backcountry (I’d want something with a serrated blade) but for a daily carry, it's pretty much perfect for me. Recently I used it to cut into a slab of meat on the grill, free a window that had been painted shut and I also whittled a nice marshmallow skewer with it. And aside from opening wine, it’s also easy to pop a beer cap off with the knife’s metal cuff. The handle on mine is just beginning to get worn down and I can’t wait for it to show its age even more.

The No.10 has a 3. 15/16” inch blade, which makes it exactly 1/16” inch away from being illegal in NYC, so you's barely legal, which is nice too. It costs $26 and is a deal if there ever was one.
