Moving Pics: Todd St. John

Mastery is revealed when an artist transfers an ascetic or style across mediums. Picasso’s sculptures. Kubrick’s photographs. It shows how skill and sensibility can transcend individual form.

Such is the case with Todd St. John’s work, which I’ve been admiring since, I think, I read an interview with him over at Pilgrim Surf, though I remember the cover he designed for Money Mark from long before.

Over the last year, his Instagram has revealed more and more images of furniture pieces that are so interesting, and so in line with his graphic design work. There’s a commonality and individual style of it all, and it’s so cool to see it move beyond any specific form.

The video above just came out, surely, to coincide with his ICFF stuff, which is worth a watch, and a visit.
