Christopher Niemann needs no introduction to anyone in the design/illustration community, and readers of the New Yorker are very familiar with his work, if they know it or not.
I just happened across his Portugal Sketchbook and really wanted to share it. The images are made using liquid inks, and as he says, he takes a reference photo with his phone and then creates the images later when his sketchbook is laid flat. The images are sort of the classic beach/vacation photos (friends walking, a friend taking a photo), but so much more beautiful. They’re also available for sale. Enjoy!
