Clothes get tested for durability but it’s rare that you get a real deep view into that process. Even more rare that the testing involves a motorcycle journey some 25,000 miles long from Portland to Patagonia...and back.
I started following West America on Instagram as they began their journey back in September ‘13 and it quickly became one of my favorite accounts. You can imagine the scenery, obstacles and countless stories from a trip like that, not to mention the paces a jacket must go through.
The jacket itself is made of 10 oz waxed cotton, with handwarmer pockets, gusseted shoulders and a whole bunch of other features designed specifically for motorcyclists. Oh, and it’s Made in the USA.
If only I still had a bike.
