Years ago, when I worked at a newspaper on California’s Central Coast, I wrote a story about an old cattle farmer who was training two wild mustangs he rescued from a nearby wilderness area. It was probably the best thing I’ve ever written, and easily the most fun I’ve had while reporting a story.
Research meant spending a lot of time on his ranch, riding around the acreage on a horse named Mercury, and even training the young mustangs in the circle for a bit as well. It was an experience, and a time, I’ll never forget.
This latest video from team at Farm League brings me right back to those supreme good times riding around Paso Roble on horseback. It’s one of my favorite places in the world, and this video does it justice.
