Recently, I had the chance to visit Scott Albrecht's studio in Gowanus to interview him and take photos for the Huckberry Artist Series. Albrecht works with a bunch of materials (laser cut wood, paint, Illustrator, glue) to create these surreal graphic works that I find completely mesmerizing. Is there typography embedded in the works themselves, or is the typography the seed that the pieces grew from, into something entirely new? It can be hard to tell.
We talked for a while about his process, working side hustles, and living in New York. You can read an edited-down version of interview over at Huckberry.
