When it comes to seeing the evolution of New York, one of the greatest resources available is the Museum of the City of New York’s online photo archive. It’s a near endless trove of historical architecture, industry and public life photos, and it is phenomenal.
I’ve burned hours exploring the archive for the last few days.
There’s this picture of the Verrazano Bridge under construction.
And there’s this downtown sky port shot by Bernice Abbot.
And a whole slew of amazing images Stanley Kubrick shot before he made films.
It’s endless. Go explore.
